Grand Opening for Turning Technologies
December 2004
Mr Kenichi Nakamura, President of Nakamura-Tome,
was guest of honour at the official opening ceremony for Southam-based
Turning Technologies UK Ltd on 27th November. Turning Technologies recently
secured the sole UK and Ireland agency for Nakamura-Tome’s super precision
turning centres. Mr Nakamura travelled from Japan especially to join
representatives from some of Britain’s leading manufacturers as guests of
Turning Technologies UK Ltd.
The Grand Opening ceremony followed on from a highly successful joint Open
House for Turning Technologies and Chiron that further cemented the
company’s rapidly growing reputation in the market. During the weekend
guests were treated to a sneak preview of some of the exciting new turning
centres due to be launched by Turning Technologies and Nakamura in 2005. The
new machines which all feature exciting new technology and leading edge
capabilities, are due to be officially launched next year at Turning
Technologies in Southam.
As Richard Turner of Turning Technologies explains, “We were delighted when
we were appointed the agency agreement with Nakamura-Tome for UK and
Ireland, and have quickly moved to create a dedicated team of
factory-trained Nakamura specialists and a comprehensive stock of spare
parts. We believe our success is based on our determination to be focused
exclusively on Nakamura-Tome turning centres.
“We have already had significant orders for the twin-spindle, multi-axis
turning centres and we are excited for 2005 as we embark on our long term
relationship with Nakamura-Tome”
Since its creation in 1949, Nakamura-Tome has built an enviable reputation
for its high-quality, high technology turning machines. Its range
encompasses a wide spectrum of machines, from single-spindle, two-axis
lathes up to four-turret, twin-spindle turning centres and systems with
integrated tool-changing capabilities.
Speaking at the gala dinner that followed the opening ceremony, Mr Nakamura
said that he was delighted to be working with Turning Technologies. He said
that Turning Technologies had impressed him from the start with its
understanding that Nakamura customers expect an unbeatable level of service
and total engineered solutions, from conception to completion and beyond.
