Growth drives recruitment push by Chiron UK and Turning Technologies
UK Ltd

February 2005

Following a year of exceptional growth, two of the UK’s leading machine tool distributors are recruiting additional service and sales engineers to support their ongoing expansion plans.

Chiron UK and its sister company Turning Technologies UK Ltd increased their combined workforce by 50% during 2004 and are further strengthening their teams to maintain this impetus.

Turning Technologies UK Ltd was established in mid-2004 as the sole UK distributor for Nakamura-Tome’s Super Precision Turning Centres. And although Turning Technologies UK Ltd and Chiron share premises and a philosophy of providing engineering-led manufacturing solutions, they operate as separate companies and have their own teams of dedicated, factory-trained applications and service engineers.

This approach works very well says Chiron’s Managing Director, Paul Rhodes, “Nakamura’s world-class turning products complement Chiron’s high added value, high-technology machining centres and yet we retain the dedicated focus of both companies.”

Both Chiron and Nakamura-Tome specialise in technologically advanced machine tools that deliver the biggest benefits to the customer when they are supplied as part of a complete engineering solution. This means that each machine sale involves a high level of project management, development and support work both before and after the sale.

As Paul explains, “You can only deliver this level of service with the right team of skilled and experienced people who are specialists in the products and processes involved. We are looking for the very best engineers on the market, people who are highly motivated and want to be part of our success. And, although we expect anyone we recruit to be well-versed in the skills required, they will receive full factory training from Chiron or Nakamura-Tome in the UK, Germany or Japan.”

Richard Turner, Managing Director of Turning Technologies UK Ltd, added, “The past few months have been tremendous. Our next challenge is to build the team that will sustain our continued growth. We are committed to making a significant investment of time and resources in recruiting, training and developing the team that will take us forward.”
