PRESIDENT OF NAKAMURA-TOME TO CHAIR JMTBA

March 2005

Mr Kenichi Nakamura, President of Nakamura-Tome, has been elected to succeed Mr Tadashi Onishi as Chairman of the Japan Machine Tool Builders’ Association (JMTBA). This is a special honour for Mr Nakamura, as it is the first time that this position has been held by the President of a medium-sized, regionally based company formed after 1945.

The selection committee chose Mr Nakamura on the basis of his personal character, his experience and his personal service to the machine tool industry. He was director of the JMTBA’s General Planning Committee from 1991 to 1994, was inaugurated as Vice-Chairman in 1999 and was also Director of Marketing Communications.

Richard Turner, Managing Director or Turning Technologies, the sole UK distributor for Nakamura-Tome’s Super High Precision Turning Centres said, “We are all delighted that Mr Nakamura has been honoured in this way and send him our congratulations.”
