TECHNICAL MEMBERSHIP FOR TURNING TECHNOLOGIES
August 2005
Turning Technologies UK Ltd (TTUK), the sole UK
distributor for Nakamura-Tome super high precision turning centres, is one
of the latest companies to be invited to join, as a technical member, the
BTMA, the trade association of precision turned parts and machined
components manufacturers.
TTUK was established in May 2004 and is focused entirely on the sale and
support of Nakamura-Tome twin spindle, twin turret, fixed head turning
centres in the UK. Its inclusion to the BTMA as a technical member has been
seen by the company as recognition of its strategy to specialise purely in
turning and develop a level of technical expertise which reflects
Nakamura-Tome’s leading global position.
Richard Turner, Managing Director of TTUK, commented “We are delighted to
have been invited to join the BTMA as technical members. We are passionate
about turning and believe that the market values companies who are real
experts in their field; companies who are capable of providing the best
solutions and advice, and this is what we have been trying to create over
the last 15 months. The invitation to join the association demonstrates that
our industry peers recognise this strategy and we look forward to making a
contribution to the Association’s aims.”
TTUK will also be looking to forge closer links with customers and fellow
experts through its involvement with the Association. It will regularly
attend group meetings and events to gain valuable insights from the market
place so that it can understand fully the market challenges that its
customers face and be in a suitable position to develop solutions to these
issues.
The BTMA was established to encourage, assist and promote its members so
that they are a competitive force in the global market. The Association
currently has 72 full members and 24 technical members.
TTTUK is a member of the
Engineering Technology
Group, based in Southam Warwickshire. Other companies within the Group
include Chiron UK, the leading manufacturer of high-speed machining centres;
Hyfore, a manufacturer of manual, pneumatic and hydraulic work holding and
clamping systems; and Hyformation, a provider of automation systems for the
machine tool industry.
